Meet Your Candidate: Rooted in Agriculture, Committed to Service 

I am a 54-year-old farmer who has lived on my family farm west of Carstairs my entire life. Farming is not just my livelihood — it’s part of who I am and the community I proudly represent. For the past two terms (eight years), I have had the honor of serving as Councillor for Division 1 in Mountain View County. I have been re-elected for a third term to continue advocating for the needs of our residents, especially those in the agricultural sector. I believe it is imperative that agricultural producers have a strong voice at the table — one that understands the realities of rural life and can advocate for legislation and policies that support Rural Albertans. I am dedicated to serving with integrity, accessibility, and a strong work ethic — always striving to do the best job possible for the people of District 2 and all of Rural Alberta.

It has been an honor and privilege to serve as Councilor for Division 1, Mountain View County. I currently hold the following roles and responsibilities in my 3rd term:

Voting Information

The election will be held in Salon 8 at the Edmonton Convention Centre on November 19th at 4pm or following the conclusion of the resolution session- whichever is later.
Only Elected Officials from District 2 are eligible to vote in this Election.

My Commitment to District 2 Rural Municipalities

I am committed to serving District 2 and all Rural Municipalities of Alberta with honesty, integrity, and a strong work ethic, backed by eight years of council experience. I will listen to and act on the concerns of District 2 Municipalities, advocate on behalf of all Rural Municipalities to both the Provincial and Federal Governments, and work toward a prosperous, sustainable future for our communities.

I will be an active and engaged member of the Board and Committees to which I am assigned, ensuring that the voices of Rural Alberta are always represented.

​

I will continue to advocate to Provincial Ministers about the importance of Rural Alberta to our province’s economy, highlight our unique needs and challenges, and keep Rural resolutions and issues at the forefront of Provincial government priorities.

I believe in practical, achievable solutions — not vague or unrealistic promises. While a single Director cannot guarantee every outcome, I am committed to collaborative leadership that delivers real results for the people and communities I serve.

Education & Career Background

​

  • Kindergarten – Grade 12: Hugh Sutherland School

  • Diploma in Agricultural Production: Olds College

  • Over 33 Years: Full-time farming on our family farm

    • Formerly raised Purebred Horned Hereford Cattle (herd dispersed in 2016)

    • Currently growing hay, cereal, pulse, and oilseed crops

  • 18 Years: Spare School Bus Driver for Chinook’s Edge School Division, driving routes across Carstairs, Didsbury, Cremona, and Olds
